V Camp Day 1

Where's Wally?
Deacon Sam

Hebrews 11:1
Now faith is the substance (realization - that comes before reality) of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Hebrews 11:3
By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible

It starts with the invisible - the word of God (the promises of God)

The truth is: Wally is on every page but because of the adversity that we go through, our soul gets cluttered and it's harder to find Wally
Golden rule in finding Wally: to believe that no matter how hard it seems to spot him, he is there on every page
Just like Wally, in every page of your life, God is there even though it may seem hard to find Him.

Hebrews 1:6
But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must (1) believe that He is, and that (2) He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

(1) He is present - He becomes your "I am"
(2) He is a rewarder (having a good opinion of Him) of those who diligently seek (ekzeyteho = to crave, demand, require of, worship) - come to Him and take from Him

NB: And I went to read on more about the other verses which talked about the faithful characters in the Bible: Abel, Enoch, Noah, Abraham, Sarah etc. I love this verse! - Hebrews 1:8 By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to the place which he would receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going. That is faith - going to the promised land which God has spoken even though you don't know where you are going, which can be a really scary thought, but that is what pleases God. When you look at the things that are not seen and believe in His word and His promises in your life. That is faith.

Psalm 116:12-13
What shall I render to the Lord
For all His benefits toward me?
I will take up the cup of salvation,
And call upon the name of the Lord.

His response of thanksgiving to the Lord: I will take
Give out of His fullness

Genesis 49:27
"Benjamin is a ravenous (hungry) wolf;
In the morning he shall devour the prey (lamb - finished work),
And at night he shall divide the spoil (acceleration)."

Focus on devouring His love for you, He will fight your battles

Isaiah 53:1
Who has believed our report?
And to whom has the arm of the Lord (strength - Jesus)  been revealed?

Mark 10:46-47 - a picture of "Where's Wally"
Now they came to Jericho. As He went out of Jericho with His disciples and a great multitude, blind Bartimaeus, the Son of Timaeus, sat by the road begging.
And, when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out and say, "Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!"
Then many warned him to be quiet, but he cried out all the more (grace is the strongest when there is desperation and hunger), "Son of David, have mercy on me!"
So Jesus stood still and commanded him to be called. Then they called the blind man, saying to him, "Be of good cheer. Rise, He is calling you."

Bartimaeus had to believe that He is, and that He is good
In the clutteredness of your life, when you cry out, your voice is clear to Him and He hears you.
Faith is the hand that takes
When you have no more strength to find Him, He finds you.

Mark 10:51-52
So Jesus answered and said to him, "What do you want Me to do for you?" The blind man said to Him, "Rabboni, that I may receive my sight."
Then Jesus said to him, "Go your way, your faith has made you well." And immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus on the road.

Where's Wally
Where are you, God?
All I see is chaos
Lost
Looking for You
You found me
